The hubs had to work overtime last night, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from enjoying the kickoff of Wednesday nights up on the roof deck at Blu Violet at Aloft Hotel in Providence.

The weather was a chef’s kiss and the whole entire team could not have been nicer.

Also, the views of PVD and the menu? Wowza…I give both five bright & shiny stars. (Hellooooo, starters, handhelds, mains, sweets, wines, and all kinds of beer.)

I’ve been saying for ages that the cap city needed more rooftop bars and restaurants — and Blu Violet is everything I could have dreamed about and more.

Did I mention the panoramic views of Downtown Prov. and the East Side?

The drinks (the Paper Airplane cocktail last night was luscious, ask for it when you go) and eats (I inhaled the thoughtfully prepared, crunchy Kale & Arugula Caesar AND the superbly baked Mushroom Ricotta Quiche) have me not only wanting to go back, but also tres excited to take all my favorite bon vivants (you know who you are, wink) along to enjoy the experience.

Think of a July (where’d the month go?) or August Golden Hour on that deck whilst tucking into a sandwich or burger and a glass of vino or creative cocktail with your circle of friends or your significant other.

And it’s an ideal backdrop for your next REEL or Story.
