We Brunched At This Providence Restaurant On The Water And Wow

When I was a manager at Nordstrom Providence (maybe I helped you back in the day?), we had our annual luncheon for the store’s tippity top sales people there one year.

And I wore a black knit jacket with absolutely horrible shoulder pads that still haunts me to this day, lol.

Of course I’ve been there since leaving my retail life behind and launching this blog, but not recently.

That being said, last Sunday — during the heatwave that had everyone hot under the collar online and in real life — I hopped online to make a brunch reservation for Waterman Grille on Richmond Street on Providence’s East Side. (PS and btw, I’m all about eateries that take reservations for weekend brunch. Who feels like showing up and then waiting over an hour to be seated.)

First off, hey, it’s on the water and the hubs and I would not have to worry about sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic coming and going, as we would have if we’d decided to head south to Gansett or Westerly or something.

Well, gotta say, it was busy with lotsa folks enjoying things like eggs and hash browns as well as hot and cold drinks.

Always a greattt sign, amirite?

I was also pleasantly surprised to see a selection of cocktails without alcohol. I ordered their BYO Spritz mocktail which was so yummy and summer-y.

Also, tucked into one of the tastiest omelettes I’ve had in recent memory. Generously sized and every bite was indeed delectable.

This leads me to ask, “Why aren’t more people singing the praises of the brunch menu at Waterman Grille?”

They have a nice variety (toyed with ordering the Challah French Toast which sounded marvelous) and the staff there was entirely pleasant and helpful.

Our wait person was also exceptional. I want to give a shoutout because she took amazing care of us and had the sunniest disposition. (For ex., she looked up our Newport Restaurant Group Fare Rewards and found we had a $15 credit. Uh, yay!)
