The Italian Bakery Cafe In Smithfield For Sweets, Coffee, Pizza And Pizzelles

Take A Trip To Pastryland

The hubs and I were in Smithfield (Rhode Island) the other day, and I really wanted to visit Pastryland on Sanderson Road, after having stumbled across them on social a while back.

Now, I thought it was strictly a bake shop specilizing in cakes, pastries and maybe bread, but it’s actually a charming Italian bakery and cafe offering sweets (cannolis, cream puffs, chocolate mousse, and such), egg and wine biscuits, bread, pizza, calzones, espresso, and wine.

Can’t believe I am just finding out about this place and everything it has to offer now, wowww! (Moreover, asked the person who waited on us the other day and she said they’ve been in business for something like 40 years.)

We loaded up on so much on Saturday — a loaf of sliced Italian bread, a mini ricotta pie, lemon pizelles, egg biscuits, and lemon squares which were a big hit with the family this past weekend.

If we didn’t have to rush off to a dinner reservation, we would absolutely have stuck around for some pizza pies, yummy calzones and wine.

They have beaucoup seating and I could see making plans to meet friends there during the week for a quiet (casual) lunch somewhere new-to-us and old world-y in the best possible way.

Regulars go gaga over their hot and cold pizzas, spinach pies, calzones, their Bailey’s Irish Cream cheesecake, custom cakes, brownies, seasonal specials, and more.

Find Pastryland at 19 Sanderson Road in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
