Cube Croissants Have Arrived In Rhode Island And Yum

I Took Mostly Video, So Here Are Some Pretty Photos From The Helado Taiyaki IG.

A few months ago, a friend sent me something about CUBE CROISSANTS and I said to myself, “Why isn’t anyone in Rhode Island making these?” (Tried researching their origin story and a bunch of different cities — and a few different chefs — get nods for having created these. Quite the conundrum, lol.)

Well, it turns out several places are, and one of them is Helado Taiyaki, a Latin Japanese fusion sweet shop (previously best known for their fish shaped taiyakii ice cream) on Dean Street in Providence. (It’s right near Mt. Fuji Hibachi.) Apparently, they’ve been making them since at least last September.

Anywho, we originally motored over for their decadent looking Saturday special — a S’Mores Hot Chocolate, Mexican hot choclate topped with torched fluff and a Maria cookie s’mores.

And it was such a treat, but I was floored when I saw that they had a selection of those darn CUBE CROISSANTS in flavors like Nutella Cream Filled, Cookie Butter Cream Filled, Guava And Cheese Filled, and Vanilla Bean Filled.

There were several people seated and enjoying these croissants in house — as well as an arts and crafts mini class of folks (who knew, lol).

Just know when you go that these cubes are not only delish but also gigantic, large enough to share with at least one other person.

Next time I stop in, I’m going to grab a bunch more to cut up and split with some friends.

Find Helado Taiyaki at 102 Dean Street in Providence, Rhode Island.
