It's A Pizza Party At This New Middletown, Rhode Island Eatery

The much anticipated J.T. Commons (formerly FoodLove Market on Aquidneck Avenue in Middletown, RI) is now open, and I motored over there yesterday afternoon.

Named for the gentleman who founded Newport Restaurant Group, this pizza-centric NRG eatery lived up to all my expectations!

My only regret is not getting dessert (more about that in a sec) and not adding my tab to my Fare Rewards account.

They have two kinds of pizza — a thin crust (their Roman with over 10 varieties including their signature JT’s Margherita) and a thicker Focaccia one (with 4 versions including a classic CHEESE).

Also, three cheers because there are gluten free pizzas available; just ask your server when you GO. Gotta say, folks are forever asking me about gf!

I ordered the Sweet & Salty from their Roman menu (a tasty treat with a crispy crust, next time I would get it without the ham, tho) and a mocktail take on a negroni (psst…their other beverage options for those who enjoy vino, brews and mixed drinks are plentiful).

Ate two pieces and took the rest home to my husband who also gave it five SHINY stars.

Finally, wish I hadn’t raced out of there because the folks at the next table were loving the soft serve ice cream they ordered at the end of their repast. Only later did yours truly realized later that the soft serve is another one of their very special offerings. (Is there anything better than a well made — light and fluffy — soft serve? I think not!) Believe you me when I go back again, I’m getting that ice cream…with toppings!
