This Fave Ice Cream Shop Has A Fantastic Fall Flavor You'll Want To Sample Soon

I’ve been blogging about it since 2015. Back then it certainly wasn’t on everyone’s radar. The only reason I knew about it was because the two founders had gone to Brown with the cousin of one of my nieces. (That last part’s soooo Rhode Island, right?). Technically it isn’t even in Rhode Island, it’s in Swansea. Depending on traffic on I-95, though, you can get there in 20-25 minutes tops.

So, we revisited The Ice Cream Barn last week and the v. good news is two fold — Their ice cream is better than ever and they now take plastic (aka, credit and debit cards)! Also, with all that’s happening, they have swiveled to outdoor ordering and pick-up which we found to be pretty organized and stress free.

In terms of flavors, I want to strongly recommend their Apple Crisp flavor which the woman who took our order described as a “spoonful of fall,” and she wasn’t wrong! So tasty (they’ve built their rep and their biz by using the best quality locally sourced ingredients btw) and frankly, I personally prefer it to anything pumpkin or pumpkin spice. I ate my regular size cup of the stuff instead of dinner that night. In addition, their portions are decidedly on the generous side. I mean, I probably could have shared it, but I didn’t.

In addition to THAT, we picked up a quart of their Coffee Milk and it got rave reviews from the fam! (We’re seeing people out on the back patio rn and for the most part, it’s been working out well.)

And they’re open from 3 to 9pm 7 days a week, so there are plenty of opportunities to swing by this 5 star establishment.
