The New Space In PVD For Vintage Everything That Everyone's Going To Be Talking About

If you were shopping around Rhode Island in search of vintage clothing, furniture and the like 20 or 25 years ago, we probably crossed paths.

Once I started working retail, however, there just wasn’t enough time in the day (or energy on my part for that matter) for driving all over the state and digging through the hit or miss inventories at tag sales or the various shops packed to the gills with tons of stuff.

Social media — Instagram in particular — has changed most of that now, with a number of fans turned vendors using the platform to sell antique apparel, home goods, and a lot more.

It was on IG recently that I spotted a store opening soon in Providence that honestly reminds me of some of the marvelous shops in and around the Boca of the 2000’s (pre-all-of-this my momma loved spending her winters there and will again once it’s okay for her to do so) where if you’re lucky, you can find gems like LV bags or wallets from the 60’s and 70’s, Hermes ashtrays or even a Fendi trench.

Speaking of which, a great tailor or seamstress on speed dial comes in especially handy when you’re contemplating consignment. The Fendi print trench coat circa 1970’s that I considered buying a while back was at least 2 sizes too big for me, so I ended up passing, but who knows, maybe it could have worked if I’d a few fittings?

Anywho, I say this because I’m intrigued about this launching soon factory-but-make-it-fashion-y space in the capital city that looks as though it will have a fantastic curated selection of kitchen, living and bedroom furnishings and accessories, including a certain vintage coffee mug from The Pink Palace, aka, the BH Hotel, that caught my eye the other night.

I recommend keeping an eye on their IG, WarehousePVD, for more details about their official opening this Spring. Mark my words, people are going to be buzzing about it.

And as always (wink) when you go, please let them know that you found out about them here on PattyJ.com.
