I’ve driven by a bunch of times over the years — on my way to somewhere else in the area (Sakonnet, South Shore Beach, and so on) — and can honestly say it’s imposible to tell how incredible this nursery is from a quick glance or two through a car window.

Yep, I’m talking about Peckham’s Greenhouse in Little Compton…And if you live in a LC you already know, but what about the rest of Rhode Island? Many RIers may be a little green when it comes to PG.

True Story Time…I once had someone who was a big fan of Peckham’s leave me a lengthy comment (bordering on a dissertation), over on the PattyJ.com Facebook Page, about how special it was (is), after I’d written something about must visit greenhouses and flower farms in the area and had failed to include it in my rundown.

This 5th generation family business (the original farm dates all the way back to 1866) takes the current form of a collection of greenhouses, bursting with tons of plants and flowers, that are also inter-connected: Think maze meets amazing. In other words, almost 100% guaranteed to surprise and delight even the most jaded in your circle these days.

And forget your favorite plant fanatic, they will go absolutely wild!

Whether you’re looking for some springtime cheer in the form of fresh blooms or more greenery for your living room, or all the accoutrements to put together your own terrarium or fairy garden (like the ones on display during the RWP Botanical Garden’s Fairy Garden Days every April), you’ll want to add PG’s to your bucket list this week and beyond.

They also have seeds, soil, and an array of trinkets (including wind chimes) to add to your indoor or outdoor garden.

Peckham’s is located at the corner of West Main and Peckham Road in LC, and has updated their hours to Tuesday thru Sunday, from 9am to 5pm. They are closed on Mondays.

As always, if you do visit Peckham’s Greenhouse because you read about them HERE, do let them know you discovered them via PattyJ.com. Also: Masks are required.
