The Delightful Shop In Wickford Where You'll Want To Go For Casual Summer Stuff

Sure, I love a great black dress or t-shirt (a kind of style shorthand for those who are fans of things like Breakfast At Tiffany’s, the hey days of the Conde Nast glossy mags, and Coco), but once the temps hit the 70’s, 80’s and beyond, even I start pulling out lighter and brighter color clothing, straw bags, and the like.

Ditto for pajamas.

Plus, I’m sick and tired of everything in my closet (especially sleepwear) from last year’s dreadful “lost summer.”

Enter the Eclectic Bungalow on Brown Street in Wickford.

Tbh, over the last couple of years, I’ve walked past tons of times and made the mistake of dismissing it as not for me.

Boy, was I wrong!

The other day after stepping over the threshold I was thrilled to find a marvelous selection of reasonably priced straw bags (I snapped up the one in the 2nd photo at the bottom for only $42 which is a crazy affordable way to co-opt that classic Jane-Birkin-basket-bag look rn and I am already getting compliments), cotton pajama sets in some pretty Palm Beach and Slim Aarons-esque prints (perfect for channeling your inner CZ Guest or Wendy Vanderbilt this season even if you don’t have a trust fund or an upstairs maid), nightgowns in white cotton (which could really double as beach dresses or cover-ups), and a super selection of home goods to rival any big box chain store.

Incredible jammies and more for sharp prices that will (I promise) make you look twice.

Frankly, I am already planning a return trip there to scoop up a bunch of new pj’s for this summer. Don’t know about you, but I’m happier when I’m in like with my outfit, which includes my sleepwear too by the bye.
