The Glass Blowing Studio In Jamestown's Windmill District You'll Def Want To See

The wife and husband owned Clancy Designs, established in 2003 and situated right next door to the iconic Jamestown Windmill, is really something else!

If like me you’ve zipped past unaware (because you were preoccupied with that darn mill which attracts professional and amateur photographers from all over this time of year, also will they or won’t they put the white sails up ty) tons of times, I highly recommend taking a Rhode trip over this spring or summer.

This work space (if you’re lucky you might get to see pieces being created right before your eyes) meets store (so many beautiful items to browse and buy) meets gallery (the piece on display in the exhibition area last weekend was entitled OCEAN which seems only fitting for a studio with views of the Newport Pell Bridge) is a must see for anyone who appreciates color and this art form that dates all the way back to the 1st century B.C.

The Clancys also offer private lessons for those wanting to learn this technique that only looks easy but in truth is far from it.

Now through May 16th, they are open by appointment only, so give them a ring at 401-423-1697.

As always, if you make an app after reading this, please do let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com.

In the meantime, check out these photos we took the other day.
