The Pizza From This New Rhode Island Food Truck Is Absolutely Fantastic

Love At 1st Slice

Okay, I’ve had my eye on Anna’s Vesuviano (a new-ish pizza truck on the Rhode Island food scene) for a while now and finally tracked them down yesterday at Moniker Brewery on West Fountain Street in Providence.

Now, in the past, yours truly has been pretty vocal about loving pizza, but friends, this was no ordinary, run-of-the-mill pie!

I ordered their Tomato Paradise special that was up on the blackboard style menu, made with summer tomatoes, herbs, and fior di latte (also known as, a tippity top shelf cow’s milk cheese), and it was srsly one of the tastiest pizzas I’ve ever sampled in my whole entire lifetime.

The taste and texture of those super fresh tomatoes, cheese, and sauce — and mad props to the gentleman cooking up pies on the back of that red truck on a 90+ degree (hi, heat wave! it was hottt 🥵 ) August day in Lil Rhody.

And I swear I detected a hint of CITRUS? (Maybe in the sauce???)

Anna’s is popping up at different locations (I’ve also seen them posting from South Water, in the vicinity of the Providence Pedestrian Bridge…HINT) and I am urging you to connect with them sometime soon.

Their pies will reaffirm your belief in the joys of eating a truly phenomenal slice of pizza.

Find out where they’ll be next by way of their IG @AnnasVesuviano.
