Rhode Island's First Jamaican Food Truck Is Getting A Providence Storefront This Spring

On the way home from somewhre else the other day, I spotted it — a banner on 60 Gano Street (a now colorful storefront right before the 95 on-ramp) saying: JA Patty Coming Soon.

(Not sure what happened with West Shore Coffee which renovated that entire space, outside and in, but onward and upward.)

In case you aren’t aware, let me tell you exactly why you’ll want to motor over this Spring once they open the doors there.

JA Patty, the very first Jamaican food truck in Lil Rhody founded in 2018 by Alison & Conroy, has given us delectable eats like handhelds (filled with made-from-scratch beef, chicken, and veggie patties), rice bowls (choose from curry chicken or veggie…see photo above for the veggie which is how I roll), fried plantains, and dumplings.

Every bite will transport you to a Caribbean-inspired happy place.

Also, and this is MAJOR, you must try their APPLE PIE PATTY, a sweet made from local apples and wrapped in their vegan dough. (The crust! Nice and flaky, I mean, yummmm…) Their spin on an apple turnover will have you wondering how you got along without it. Yes, it is THAT good.

Their regular customers (JP can be found at all the hottest food truck events and those “taste of… “ type events that are more popular than ever) will tell you they love that everything on their menu is made from super FRESH ingredients and that their signature patties are baked and not fried.

PS And BTW: You can also hire them to cater your next shindig.

For more from JA Patty, check out their site and social.

As always, if you become a JP fan after reading THIS, please let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com
