Vegging Out In Prov
Spending more time on the East Side of Prov this week (#DontAsk) which means I get to eat lunch or dinner (sometimes both) at one of my fav restaurants, the Garden Grille. GG specializes in vegetarian food and has been around for decades. As an ex junk food junkie, who’s only been eating truly healthy for the last 5 yrs, I’m a latecomer to the table there, but I’m making up for that now with the frequency of my visits.
I was @ GG for lunch earlier today in fact, with my niece Brianna (who was wearing leggings, a tank and the perfect dark denim shirt that turned out be from H&M #CheapChic) and ordered 2 of my go-to-never-miss dishes:
1. Reggie’s Raw Heaven Salad
I get this without the argula. Bitter greens are so good for you, but I cannot stomach them. If you concur, then order it with romaine or green leaf. The rest of the ingredients – avocado, mango, grapefruit and shredded beets – all stack up to make this practically the best summer salad in modern day history.
2. Thai Tomato Soup
True story: I once drove a half hour out of my way just to get to GG for a bowl of this when it was the Soup Of The Day. Also, Brianna says that she’s never had a bad bowl of soup at GG – What else do you need to know?
PS – If you want to get technical, GG is actually located in Pawtucket, just over the (Prov) line. #Whatever
