All The (Local) Things You'll Want If You're A Dog Mom In The OS

I have a confession to make...

B. and I took Goldendoodle Louie to the Dog Parade Stroll on Main Street in EG a few years back (when he was still technically a pup) and he proceeded to jump excitedly at just about every single dog going by. Hellooo, mortified! One woman was apparently so annoyed she handed us a business card for a dog trainer (insert eye roll here).

So, full disclosure, he was on leash the whole time - and a doodle for Pete's sake - but that didn't save us from some major embarrassment. There's another Dog Stroll tonight and even though we're probably banned or something (jk), I highly encourage all doggie pawrents out there to give it a whirl. And in case you're looking for more ways to upgrade your dog mom lifestyle this season, consider these other local options:

1. Bored with the treat selection you currently have on hand for your four legged best friend? Motor over to Woof! Woof! in Bristol and ramp things up with their wheat, corn and soy free biscuit bar, pupcakes or frozen yogurt. They also offer customized cakes (because dog birthday parties are here to stay guys), toys, gifty items for you or your SO, and an outdoor doggie deck where you and your pup can chillax this Summer in the OS.

Wonder if they'll have any of these for National Donut Day on June 1st? (Photo courtesy of the Woof! Woof! Pet Boutique & Bakery IG)

2. It happens to the best of us. Maybe we don't get all talk-y about it, but leaving our dog home alone, even for a few hours, can be extremely difficult (the separation anxiety, the sadness, the questions...What is she doing right now? Does she miss me? Is she eating the new throw rug?). No more doggie mom or dad guilt though because Ruffin Wranglers has these outdoor excursion packages where they pick up your pooch, bring them out to a sprawling stretch of greenery and trees to run and play with other dogs, and then chauffeur them safely back to your house. (Not available in all areas of RI. Check out RuffinWranglers.com for details.)

3. Bark meets bling...Our friends over at Providence Diamond are teaming up with the ppl at Potter League in Newport (They do so much to help abandoned or displaced animals find loving, fur-ever homes.) to offer a brand new Potter League Collection. The first piece is a diamond bone pendant (photo below, courtesy of their IG) that's pretty much the perfect gift to give yourself for being the best dog momma.
