If you’re craving an old time-y apothecary and soda fountain experience, without the cranky proprietor (Remember grumpy Mr. Gower from It’s A Wonderful Life? Sure he redeemed himself by buying young George that suitcase, and showing up at the end too, but the ‘tude!), then you’re going to be pretty jazzed to hear that Green Line Apothecary is opening a 2nd location on North Main in Providence this Spring.

The folks at Green Line first put an updated, shiny spin on the vintage drug stores of old with their original space over in Wakefield. That space features a full-service pharmacy (that also offers home delivery of prescriptions to customers in the immediate area), a soda fountain inspired by ones from the hey day of such things (circa 1920’s thru the 1950’s, give or take), and an extensive assortment of what they call “remedies and eseentials” (Me personally? I live to browse shelves of products that fall under that umbrella. Creams, serums, lotions, and the anything else that beckons with wording about better skin, hair, nails, complexion or mood and you got me.).

The soda fountain - and there’s sure to be one on North Main - is another big reason to bookmark both locations for your Winter + Spring excursions in the OS. Especially if you have kids in your life.

And the best news? You don’t need a poodle skirt, saddle shoes or a letterman jacket to enjoy a hot chocolate, sundae, or float with your SO (significant other), your besties or the kiddos. It’s an ideal way to spend an hour or two this season - or next in the case of the No. Main location. #YoureWelcome

*Green Line is currently located at 203 Main Street in Wakefield, RI. Watch for their new location on North Main in Providence this Spring.
